A midweek course to be held in a hall and converted barn in Staffordshire, with endless
fantastic countryside views over the Peak District.

Participants may arrive from 4 pm on Monday; supper at 7.30 pm on the first evening
is followed by the first musical activity. The course ends with cream tea followed
by an informal concert on Thursday (from 3 pm), finishing no later than 5 pm; friends
and family are invited to attend at no extra charge.
UK course fee - £405 (2011) or £410 (2012), fully inclusive of individual accommodation,
meals, refreshments and all musical activities.
Please note that the course fee for the seven day courses, to be held Ireland in
spring and summer 2012, is £850.

An intensive week-long flute course to be held in a beautiful house on the Oysterhaven
Bay, West Cork, Ireland, 6 miles from Kinsale and only 30 minutes from Cork International
Airport. As well as full participation in all musical activities - including an individual
lesson with Zoë Booth and an individual rehearsal with piano accompanist Rachael
Buxton - there are a number of excursions and visits which have been arranged during
the week; the full programme of activities is shown below.
£850, fully inclusive of individual, ensuite accommodation, meals, refreshments,
all musical activities and excursions. You will need to provide any spending money,
and your own transport to and from the course.

- Sat 14th April/16th June - Arrival, followed by the first musical activity in the
evening.
- Sun 15th April/17th June - Morning flute playing. An afternoon visit to local town
Kinsale, exploring the historic streets and harbour. Flute playing in the evening.
- Mon 16th April/18th June - Morning visit to Blarney Castle and gardens (including
the famous Blarney stone) and a woollen mill. Afternoon and evening flute playing.
- Tues 17th April/19th June - Morning flute playing. Afternoon visit to Jamesons’
whisky distillery in Middleton for a tour and tasting.
- Wed 18th April/20th June - Flute playing all day. Evening visit to a local pub for
a traditional Irish music night.
- Thurs 19th April/21st June - Morning flute playing. Afternoon visit to Cork City
for shopping and the chance to ring the historic Shandon Bells of St Mary’s Church.
- Fri 20th April/22nd June - A busy day of flute playing, culminating in the end of
course informal concert.
- Sat 21st April/23rd June -Depart at the end of Flutes at the Barns Ireland 2012.
